Interviewer:
Please describe your job title and primary duties.
Zara Sales Associate:
I was a sales associate there. So part of my duties was just maintaining the sales floor, helping out customers with any kind of inquiries or if they were looking for a certain jeans or shirt and whatnot. Helping out, advising customers on outfit choices, stuff like that. So those were some of the duties. Always just maintaining and helping out customers pretty much.
Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?
Zara Sales Associate:
The application interview process was a little bit more intensive. In the sense that they are definitely looking for people who have retail experience, customer experience. They also are looking for people who are not shy. They’re looking for someone who will represent their company well. And I guess someone who does have knowledge on the fashion world. Especially because working in the retail business, they just want someone… If a person were to ask you about trends and whatnot, they want someone who knows at least a little bit of something. Rather than someone who doesn’t know anything at all.
Interviewer:
What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Zara Sales Associate:
Definitely do a little bit of research on the company. Because I think that they have a little bit more interest in people who are interested in their company. So definitely do a little bit of research in their company. If they don’t have any knowledge on what’s going on in fashion, research that, see what’s in, what’s out. So that they’re like, okay yeah, this girl definitely knows what she’s doing. And like every job application, just be confident, believe in your answers and just show them that you will not regret hiring me.
