Please describe your job title and primary duties.

The Source Sales Associate:
Okay. I was a sales associate. We didn’t really have a steady job duty because it was a smaller store. So I’d be selling cell phones, I’d be selling TVs or batteries. But it was basically sales-oriented.

Interviewer:
What was the work environment like?

The Source Sales Associate:
It was a smaller store and I’d basically have customers coming all day asking for help regarding any electronics that they had. And I would pretty much convince them to buy handheld products like cell phones throughout the day.

Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?

The Source Sales Associate:
So basically I went in to… What was it? A job fair. And on the spot I was asked, “Oh, sell me something that you have on you.” And I had a cell phone at the time. It was a Blackberry. And I basically told him the pros and cons of my Blackberry and why he should have it. And I guess I pretty much convinced him because he gave me the job afterwards. And basically that was my job after.

Interviewer:
What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?

The Source Sales Associate:
They want to know your background on electronics. So if you’re a techie person that really helps because you’re going to be selling electronics all day. So if you’re old-fashioned or you have a typewriter, it’s not going to work for you.

What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?

The Source Sales Associate:
If you’re looking for a job with the source, you have to be a very confident person because you’re working with people all day. People can be intimidated. You have to know that you have it within you to make the sell. So just go out there and try to be as persuasive as you can.
