Interviewer:
Please describe your job title and primary duties.

Old Navy Sales Associate:
So I worked on the floor at Old Navy, helping customers and as well as on cash. So at cash, I was responsible for exchanges with money, cashing through the products and on the floor, I was responsible for helping the customers and greeting them mostly and also cleaning up.

Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?

Old Navy Sales Associate:
So, I applied online because it was seasonal for the Christmas season and you input your availability and your resume and you submit all that and then it was a group interview, so this was a large group, maybe about 10 to 12 people in the group, and it was more group focused, not individual focused.

Interviewer:
What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?

Old Navy Sales Associate:
They asked a lot of things about kind of security, theft security and how you would sell a product to a customer. What would be important to you to keeping a neat and tidy store? If you came into a store, what would influence you to buying a product? So they’re more focused on kind of getting the consumer to get into the store and then showing them an item maybe, and saying, “This would go good with these pants.” They kind of taught you tactics you could use.

Interviewer:
What set you apart from other candidates?

Old Navy Sales Associate:
I felt like I was very friendly and I was communicating with the consumers coming in more, it was really important, they emphasize greeting as soon as the consumer walked into the store, so giving them that attention. Also experience was a key factor, when applying.

Interviewer:
What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?

Old Navy Sales Associate:
I would say, just make sure you’re very friendly at all times. You’re never not doing something, so always keeping busy. You always have to make sure your station looks very presentable, and whenever a consumer has a question, try to answer that question to the best of your ability, more so.
