Interviewer:
Please describe your job title and primary duties.
McDonald’s Crew Member:
I was normal crew. I worked for two years. Pretty much basic duty cashier. I was at drive-thru, worked overnight. You got to be quick, take orders, money, handle all that, give out the food, basic cleaning, make sure everything’s organized, stocked.
Interviewer:
What was the work environment like?
McDonald’s Crew Member:
The work environment? It was … honestly the place is really clean. The people that work there are awesome. Everything’s well-maintained. They always have … every night you got to wash everything. It was a good place to work.
Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?
McDonald’s Crew Member:
I just game them my resume. They had a hiring [inaudible]. Right? They were like, “Just bring it in.” I went in that day and gave it in. They gave me a call a few days later. I came in. I say it was just a normal interview. They ask questions like, “Why do you want to work here? What qualities do you have? What can you bring to the company and stuff?” Just basic interview.
Interviewer:
What set you apart from other candidates?
McDonald’s Crew Member:
Enthusiasm. Right? Because at that time, that was supposed to be my first job. Right? When it’s your first job, you just … They just looked at me. We just had a good conversation. We just talked about normal stuff like, “What do you do at school?” The high school, sports and stuff like that. And it just looked enthusiastic, I guess. That’s what it is.
Interviewer:
What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
McDonald’s Crew Member:
Go in there, apply. If you know someone that works there, maybe get them to put in a word for you because they’re literally always hiring. Right? You can just be enthusiastic when you go in. Right? Because you obviously, you don’t want to be working with someone that’s dull. Right? You always want to go in with a smile and just be happy. That’s it.
Bernadette Bielaski says:
I worked for McDonald’s before it was a great experience.
