What I basically did was just stay in the back. I made the dough. For the most part, we’d split the stuff we had to do with our other workers, and then later part the last 30 minutes I’d go to the cashier. But for most, I would just be actually making the dough that they use to make the Cinnabons.

It actually made me experience actual job, so I got experience for me and now I know how to handle people in different ways.

Cinnabon Kitchen Staff Member: Try to have as much experience as you can, communicate because for the most part you’re always with people. So if you’re not good with people, then the job might not be for you, but there’s also where you can stay in the back all the time. So it has its negatives and positives.

At Cinnabon, I was the cook. Well, not the cook, but I mean, it’s not really cooking, but I made the Cinnabons. It’s pretty… What I had to do was just I had to learn how to make it first. It’s not that hard, really. Once you get the steps, it’s easy. And then sometimes I would take customers’ orders, but a lot of times, there’s someone else there.

What was the work environment like?
Cinnabon Cook:
It was a lot of work. I work at the one at Fairview, and there was always, always, always people there because it’s right by the entrance. So people are always going back and forth. So it’s a lot of work, but you only have to make a certain amount of batches a day. So once you have those, then you’re good.
Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?
Cinnabon Cook:
It was more individualistic. It was like, “What type of person are you? Can you work well with others? Do you know how to make things fast?” It’s very catered to the job. Yeah.

What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
Cinnabon Cook:
Almost all fast food restaurant questions are the same. It’s good to know what they order and their menu. I think if you know that, I feel like they’ll give you priorities for jobs.

What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
Cinnabon Cook:
Be 15 minutes earlier for the interview and know the menu. I think that’s instantly, you will get the job if you know everything that’s on the menu and also how to make the Cinnabons. Yeah.
