Interviewer:
Please describe your job title and primary duties.

Champs Sports Sales Associate:
Part-time sales associate. And basically, all I did was, I was in charge of sales and cash.

Interviewer:
What was the work environment like?

Champs Sports Sales Associate:
The work environment? It was great, very, very busy, it’s like organized chaos. A lot of different customers.

Interviewer:
How would you describe the application and interview process?

Champs Sports Sales Associate:
The hiring process it was, I’d say it was quite, it was the usual. You just walk in and you apply for a job with the Manager. But they were looking for people who had interest in shoes. So I noticed that they weren’t accepting people’s resumes, who just came in and hand resume in. For people who were more buying shoes and then they would see over consistent basis. And then they’d be like, “Oh, hey, are you looking for a job?” Or some would be like, “Hey, are you guys hiring?” They be like, “Yeah, definitely.” And it would go into an interview, an on the phone interview and then call you in for an interview and then see how that goes and then start training.

Interviewer:
What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?

Champs Sports Sales Associate:
Why do you want to work at Champs? And they asked me that and they asked me, “Why do I, why am I a team player? And what contributions could I make to a job that’s all about teamwork.”

Interviewer:
What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to get employment?

Champs Sports Sales Associate:
Definitely to have knowledge on shoe products and the latest, the latest shoes and different brands, clothing brands. Cause that’s very important to the job. Managers say that all the time. Even when they going through training, they ask individuals to go do some research on different types of running shoes, walking shoes, sports shoes, basketball shoes, because at the end of the day you get more sales if you know a lot more about the product and that’s why I was successful there. With commissioning.
